| Appoint an Accredited Service Provider (ASP) in EmaraTax | by 31 Mar 2027 |
| E-invoicing mandatory (go-live) | 1 Jul 2027 |
Is Odoo an accredited ASP?
No. Odoo S.A. does not appear on the MoF list of 80 accredited providers. Odoo's own UAE localisation documentation (v19) covers VAT, corporate tax, the Arabic/GCC invoice layout, and B2B versus B2C invoices. It does not mention UAE e-invoicing, PINT AE or an ASP. We found no Odoo S.A. page that announces native UAE e-invoicing. (Odoo's Peppol documentation page could not be opened.)
What we found instead are third-party modules on the Odoo Apps store:
| Module | Publisher | Notes from the listing |
|---|---|---|
l10n_ae_einvoice (v18 and v19) |
Pokutsoft | Generates and validates PINT AE invoices, credit notes and debit notes, then sends them to an ASP of your choice. The publisher says it is "not an ASP". You enter the ASP endpoint, API key and sender ID |
account_tca_peppol (v19) |
Suntech (Tax Compliance Agent) | Connects to Suntech's Peppol access point. Suntech Business Solutions DMCC is on the MoF list (no. 106799). The listing price is USD 1,790.88. It conflicts with Odoo's native account_peppol module |
Other ASPs advertise Odoo connectors too. Check every provider's accreditation number on the MoF list.
Settings and data to prepare in Odoo
| Where | What to prepare |
|---|---|
| Modules | l10n_ae installed. l10n_ae_reports for VAT201. Your chosen e-invoicing connector |
| Company (Settings > Companies) | Legal name as on the trade licence, TRN in the Tax ID field, TIN (first 10 digits of the TRN), address with emirate, currency AED, and company registry (trade licence number) |
| Customers (Contacts) | Legal name, TRN, full address with state/emirate and country, and a Peppol endpoint (scheme 0235 plus TIN) for UAE B2B customers |
| Products | Correct customer tax (5%, 0%, exempt or out of scope), units of measure mapped to standard codes, and a clear description |
| Taxes and fiscal positions | Check the preconfigured UAE taxes. Use fiscal positions for zero-rated or export sales and for designated zones |
| Currencies | Enable automatic rates (Central Bank of the UAE) so that AED VAT amounts are available on foreign-currency invoices |
| Credit notes | Make the reversal reason required. Reason codes are mandatory in PINT AE v1.0.1 |
| Journals | Keep one sequence per journal and avoid resetting or editing posted invoices |
Step-by-step preparation
- Now: confirm your Odoo version and hosting (Online, Odoo.sh or on-premise). Third-party connectors target v18 or v19. On Odoo Online you cannot install most third-party modules, so ask your partner whether you need to move to Odoo.sh or upgrade.
- Nov 2026: shortlist ASPs from the MoF list that have a working Odoo connector for your version. Ask for a live demo using your sample invoices, and check that credit notes and status write-back work.
- Nov to Dec 2026: clean up the company, contact and product data listed above. Fill in the emirate on every UAE contact.
- Jan 2027: sign with the ASP, then appoint it in EmaraTax (open your taxable person, go to E-Invoicing, select the ASP and submit).
- Feb 2027: install the connector on a staging database first. If you use
account_tca_peppol, make sure the nativeaccount_peppolmodule is not active. - Feb to Mar 2027: enter the ASP credentials (endpoint, API key or sender ID) and your company TRN and emirate in the connector wizard.
- By 31 Mar 2027: confirm that EmaraTax shows the ASP as appointed.
- Apr to Jun 2027: test invoices, credit notes, foreign-currency invoices and zero-rated invoices, then fix any validation errors. Move the connector to production.
- 1 Jul 2027: every B2B and B2G invoice goes out through the connector. Check the e-invoice status on each posted invoice.
